Deuteronomy 34:4-5 And the Lord said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.
The scripture above depicts one of the attacks that face many people. This attack is known as the curse of "Almost There, but Never There". Some call it near success syndrome. When this curse is in operation in the life of a person, they will find themself at the edge of a breakthrough, yet never crossing over into it. Moses, in the passage above, was close to the promised land. He was so close that he could see the land, yet he never entered the land. He has spent time (years), energy, resources and all of them become a waste. This curse will waste a person's time, energy, money, resources, etc.
When the curse of Almost there, never there is in operation, a person becomes close to getting married, getting a job, signing a great business contract, having a baby, closing on a house, etc, and yet never accomplish it. In some cases they have already been promised the blessing, but right before what was promised materializes, the one who promised changes their mind. In some case, something mysterious or tragic happens to close the door against the blessing.
I met a teacher some years ago who told me that he has failed his teaching certification exams several times by only one point. I told him that was the curse of almost there, never there. The plan was for him to always be close to the mark he needed but never getting there. I prayed with him and he was able to pass the exam.
A member of my church told me about how she was always close to the position she was looking to get on her job, but always being bypassed for the position. Another lady told me that for the past three relationships, the guys change their mind about her after two years of relationships. Almost there, never there will allow a person to get close to the blessing but not get to enjoy the blessing. If you're experiencing this, you need to pray to break this curse.
